Superstar Rajnikanth, known to take many by surprise with his utterances and actions, recently treated comedian Mayilsamy to a sumptuous lunch at his sprawling Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam. Mayilsami is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and never misses his Girivalam (going around the Tiruvannamalai Temple barefeeted) tours.
On one of his tours, Mayilsamy came across the portrait of a three-dimensional Lord Shiva in one of those shops there. As Mayilsamy knew that Rajnikanth too used to go for Girivalam tour, he wanted to present to the superstar as a gift one such three-dimensional portrait of Lord Shiva in a dancing posture.
Mayilsamy got in touch with the superstar's manager who wasted no time in getting an appointment for him to meet the superstar. Rajni asked Mayilsamy to come to his Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam and to the latter's surprise, hosted a grand lunch for him. Rajni insisted that Mayilsamy should have the lunch and can't leave without eating.
Even as Mayilsamy was eating, he was overwhelmed by Rajnikant's simplicity when he sat next to him and asked him to eat casually and even served him 'ghee'. This touched the sensitive chord in Mayilsamy who was simply over-awed by the superstar's attitude. With tears of joy welling up in his eyes, Mayilsamy says that "Rajni is the only actor, after the late and legendary MGR, to respect and honour comedians!"
