Will Vijay go with Congress?

Kollywood circles are abuzz with the speculation of Ilayathalapathy Vijay joining Congress party as a first move towards his political agenda. The speculations have been triggered by a meeting between the actor and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi last week.

Rahul, the young face of Congress, has reportedly discussed with Vijay, the steps taken to strengthen the party in Tamil Nadu. The actor who attended a meeting organised by his fans club (Vijay Makkal Iyakkam) in Puducherry Sunday last, left for New Delhi where he met Rahul.

Congress is said to be keen on roping in Vijay, as the oldest party of India badly needs a young star, who could fit the bill as a star campaigner in Tamil Nadu. It is worth mentioning that Rahul is very particular about reviving the youth wing of the party keeping an eye on future.

Vijay, who has several thousand fans across the State will come handy in doing the grass-root level works especially during elections. It is believed by them that that Vijay would be definitely a crowd puller for the Congress.

Addressing media persons after the meeting with Rahul Gandhi, Vijay said, "I am happy to meet a youth leader whose vision is to emphasize the country's presence in the global scene with leaders of the younger generation".
